• Confidential Downtown Atlanta Private Hotel Redevelopment (763-key repositioning; $105M). 

• Confidential Metro-Atlanta Mixed-Use District ($1.2B; 15,000-seat professional sports stadium, housing, retail, innovation campus). 

• Advised and produced site and market feasibility, program planning, capital structuring, and acted as Program Manager and Co-Developer of Confidential Post-Secondary HBCU Innovation Campus sponsored by Apple and Southern Company

• Guided and advised private client teams through procurement, site feasibility, program planning, and structured finance solutions for mixed-finance, mixed-use, mixed-income and affordable housing master developments, included homeownership and rental units, all of which won competitive public-private procurement awards, including: 

• Bowen Homes, Atlanta, GA, HUD Choice Neighborhood Implementation Award ($442M total development cost; 2,000 units, 50,000 SF retail, 25,000 SF community amenities)

ATLANTA HOUSING AUTHORITY (AH)

Atlanta Housing Authority is the largest public housing authority (PHA) in Georgia and one of the largest Moving To Work (MTW) PHAs in the United States.

 

Interim President & Chief Executive Officer  

Following three years of service as Commissioner and Chair of the Board Real Estate Committee, appointed Interim President & CEO by the Mayor of Atlanta and the AH Board Chair to lead the turnaround of an agency facing critical financial, legal, and programmatic challenges during a national search for a permanent CEO.  8 direct reports and 311 full-time employees responsible for managing an annual financial footprint exceeding $500M, 109 properties across 340 acres, 12,000+ residential units, developing 400 acres of vacant land, and serving 50,000+ residents and rental assistance. Selected Accomplishments: 

• Negotiated and advanced resolution of legal disputes exceeding $150M, safeguarding federal and state funding in coordination with the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and private partners. 

• Designed and launched the “Big Six Redevelopment Plan”, advancing redevelopment of six major former public housing sites across 200 acres of vacant land, totaling ~$1.9B and 6,500+ planned mixed-income rental and homeownership units, including Bankhead Courts, Bowen Homes, Englewood Manor North/South, Herndon Square, Palmer House, and SoNo/301. 

• Strengthened enterprise governance and financial reporting systems and implemented new operational cadence, compliance controls, and performance reporting to align HUD standards with private capital and investor requirements.

One of the largest privately held construction firms in the United States, providing general contracting, design-build, and construction management services for a wide variety of complex projects and markets including civic, multifamily, healthcare, hospitality, sports and entertainment.
